Then I discovered that according to the history books, it originated in ancient Rome when an Emperor decided that married soldiers weren’t as effective as unmarried ones, so he had marriage outlawed.
Apparently, the convention of marriage was saved again by a romantic saint called St Valentine, who was sadly imprisoned and murdered for his efforts. And the tradition of Valentine’s Day seemingly evolved from there.
Now, I hope I don’t get crucified for my efforts, but I’d like to take advantage of this man Valentine’s generous actions and spread love across the planet this Valentine’s Day. The reason being, I believe that love is actually what makes the world go round.
I also know I’m not the only one carrying that thought around. I’m convinced that we all are at some level.
Let me share those interesting words from Rumi himself…
*****
Love is the cure
for your pain will keep giving birth to more pain
until your eyes constantly exhale love
as effortlessly as your body yields its scent.

Now if that’s not romantic, I’m not sure what is!
So, in honour of all the warriors of love that have swirled through this earth and helped it spin like a glorious disco ball, I thank you. And for those reading this blog, I thank you for receiving the loving vibrations that we are sending you through these words and through the intentions of the pharmacy for Valentine’s Day.
We wish you all a beautiful day, full of love in its highest form.
Lots of love
