Why we advocate aloe vera

If you’ve ever taken a walk around the countryside of Catalunya, the probability of an aloe vera plant appearing on the route is less than far fetched. In fact, the Mediterranean climate is so warm and dry that we usually benefit from a very happy harvest.

Not only does the aloe vera plant tend to grace the countryside and coastline with their elegance, but its spirit also provides an invitation to heal. And that’s why we’re ever so forthright in advocating the aloe vera plant in our lives and our cosmetics.

Alas, we are born and bread in a country that produces enough aloe vera to supply the entire European market. To that end, we recognise that our ecological system helps determine the way in which we exist with the quality and characteristics of the plant.

Did you know that the spirit of aloe vera has been working on healing the skin and immune system of us humans for what we’ve know as at least some thousands of years? It’s claimed to deeply cleanse the skin and heal it from scars, burns and skin pathologies like eczema and psoriasis. It’s also know to be an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant that reinforces the immune, digestive and circulatory system. It contains a large quantity of amino and fatty acids, vitamins and minerals and other important enzymes. But what we find incredibly interesting at the pharmacy is that aloe vera contains a power trace element called germanium.

For centuries, stories have held that germanium is a winning ticket to miraculous health conditions. They even claim that high levels of germanium can be found at the healing springs of Lourdes, the place where miracles have seemingly occurred since as far back as 1858 when a young girl had an encounter with the Virgin Mary.

But seemingly, in modern days, germanium is found to heal conditions such as allergies, asthma, cancer, arthritis and HIV and AIDS. And aloe vera is said to contain more germanium than other revitalising plants such as garlic, ginger and ginseng.

It’s for this that we love, support and celebrate the plant of aloe vera. We endeavour to remain wholeheartedly connected to this plant by supporting its growth and by working with its properties in our own natural cosmetics.
