Our beloved Hans Christian Andersen delivered many fairytales that have left a mark on our hearts and minds. But it was his love of travel that inspired my journal as I took a trip to the UK.
While I perched in the leather aisle seat of my flight to the Great British Isles and enjoyed the rhythms of their greatly proclaimed musicians, I took important matters into my hands. I ordered a British brew and matched it with a well deserved chocolate Twix. It was when I heard Robbie Williams sing ‘I love my life’ that I decided to clean down my hands with Teresa’s travel sized sanitising gel and get to work with my sacred journaling.
The first page of my doodling showed me all the places I dreamed of visiting. But as the list of villages and seaside resorts swelled, my doodling drew on another set of uplifting words that come straight from Hans himself. To travel is to live.
I decided to dovetail with Hans and take meaning into my own deep set of hands by expressing what my soul felt as I interacted with his words. It felt like this:
Toy
Or
Try,
Remember
Always
Verify,
Everyone
Loves
Idiosyncratic
Stories,
Travel
Over
Land,
It’s
Vivaciously
Effervescent.
In other words, the conclusion I came to was: To travel is to be gifted.
As I closed my journal and bid the flight farewell, I picked up my travel case and vivaciously climbed the stairs into the airport. After freshening up with Teresa’s travel sized Mouthwash and Rejuvenating Cream I picked up the keys to my hire car and set off for an adventure into the British culture.
Whatever the summer holidays hold for your own set of special Han’d’s, be sure to travel with your heart neatly packed in place.
And in case they may be a supportive set of travel companions, here’s the link to the complete set of travel cosmetics I like to carry in my case. They come directly from Teresa Castells with love.
We wish you glorified travel steps in whichever direction they take.
With love, Anneka and Farmacia Barcelona
